What it is / 02
One image. Your server. Your group.
Pipoca is being packaged as a single multi-architecture image that runs with durable storage and conservative defaults.
Self-host first
The first distribution priority is a self-hosted release that a technically capable group member can put on an ordinary server. The same image is intended to run on common AMD64 and ARM64 hosts.
What “one image” means
- Copy the provided environment template and choose the public URL.
- Pin Pipoca’s published multi-architecture image by immutable digest.
- Generate the instance MFA key and keep it outside the image.
- Start the supplied Compose service with durable storage.
- Complete the first-owner bootstrap, then decide whether registration opens.
The release documentation will provide the exact commands and candidate digest. Until that release is declared ready, the flagship is the supported place to test Pipoca.
Safe defaults
A new server begins with registration closed. Its first owner completes a short-lived bootstrap flow, chooses when registration opens, and controls anonymous access. Persistent data stays on a dedicated volume.
Free to operate
The self-hosted release is source-available and free to run. Pipoca Co. plans a paid support subscription for direct technical help, assisted upgrades, migration and backup help, and priority bug fixes. Ending support does not disable an instance.
CURRENT STATUS
The deployment and account foundations are under active development. Join the flagship to test the current work and follow release readiness.
